What to Expect After Your First PDO Thread Treatment
You’ve heard about how great PDO thread lifts are, and you’re ready to try it — but what does life after treatment look like? Wonder no more. We’re giving you the lowdown on what to expect after your first treatment.

The results are in: Youthful skin tops our list of beauty priorities. But it’s not enough anymore to slather on cream and hope for the best.

To really do away with the signs of aging, you need a treatment that harnesses the power of biology to lift and tighten your skin.

PDO thread lifts do just that by stimulating cell regeneration and revitalizing your skin from the inside out — and they do it without surgery.

In this blog, our expert Rebecca White, MBA, MSN, RN, at Becky Does Botox in Channelview and Houston, Texas, walks you through exactly what to expect after this revolutionary, no-scalpel-required, skin-lifting treatment.

Leaving our office

Before you leave our office, we go over a few aftercare instructions and help you know what to expect from your skin over the coming days and weeks.

First and foremost, you should know that PDO thread lifts come with a bit of downtime. You should avoid strenuous exercise for at least two weeks. We also recommend that you stick to a soft or liquid diet for a couple of weeks and limit opening your mouth wide or taking big bites of food as much as possible.

You may notice some side effects, including redness, swelling, and bruising for the first two weeks following your treatment, as well. You can manage these side effects by gently applying ice packs or cold compresses, using over-the-counter painkillers, and, of course, keeping up a healthy lifestyle by staying hydrated and eating a well-balanced diet.

Caring for your skin

Your skin right after the PDO thread lift is tender and vulnerable, so we send you home with a few guidelines for caring for your skin. First, it’s important that you let your face take it easy for a while. Try not to make any repetitive facial movements, like pursing your lips or chewing gum, and don’t scrub, rub, or pull on your facial skin.

We also recommend that you lay off the skin care products (even your favorite cleansers and creams) until your skin has healed. Sleeping on your back for a while also goes a long way in keeping your skin healthy and maximizing your results.

Seeing results

Speaking of results, results from PDO thread lifts are immediate and only get better over time as your cells regenerate and swelling subsides. PDO threads do dissolve eventually, but we offer repeat treatments and other cosmetic procedures to keep your skin looking as young and healthy as possible.
